Empowering. Strong. Genuine. Passionate.

These are a few words that describe aspiring model Kira Faith. From the moment I first met her, Kira (pronounced KY-ra, don’t forget it) emitted the most flamboyant energy I’ve ever seen. Of course, stunning, Faith showed that there’s more to her than just looks. She spoke with grace, character, and confidence, it was hard to turn away.

It’s because of this I was excited to interview her and dive deeper into who she is as a model and what she’s hoping to bring to Phoenix Fashion Week.

As apart of Phoenix’s biggest fashion event of the year, there’s a competition among designers and models who compete against each other for model and designer of the year.

The model of the year gets the opportunity to sign a contract with Agency Arizona whereas the designer of the year the chance to win money as well as grow their business even more. While leading up to the big day, models and designers are put through a boot camp to help them grow.

“Boot camp is the process that helps us grow and achieve our dreams of being a supermodel,” Faith said. “It’s really just us as models and a team coming together to help each other get better and improve, which is the most important part.

It’s through the Fashion Week competition where Faith felt like she approved the most as a model and it really opened her mind to the industry.

“For me, the competition has really shown me that I can improve my walk in a number of ways and also really opened my mind to the industry and seeing/being apart of the team is a dream come true,” Faith said.

Faith saw the competition as a way for her to redeem herself and move past a difficult year.

“This year, for me, was a year of redemption. 2018 was a difficult year for me and made me make a lot of difficult decisions about my life path,” Faith said. “I’ve spent a lot of time in and out of the modeling scene to pursue a career and family when it all came crumbling down I decided this year that if I was meant to be a supermodel then I was going to join the competition, make a name for myself and hopefully get signed to a major agency. I took the opportunity to dive in headfirst and give it my all as if this was what I was meant to do.”

By overcoming her obstacles, Faith exhibits strength and it shows when in her presence. Faith has high hopes for her modeling career and future. Unlike a typical model, she hopes to pave the way for woman with bigger hips and who are skinny but have a butt, she is really hopes to empower women everywhere.

“My goal with modeling is to be this first skinny model with a “butt” to grace the Victoria Secret runway and have my own collaboration with the line for woman with bigger hips,” Faith said. “I want to expand the minds of Versace & Balmain on the ideas of beauty and show the world that imperfection is perfection.”

It’s without a doubt Faith has the ability to be the best model possible and it shows in the way she carries herself on and off the runway.

One Last Thing….

Her advice to aspiring models: My biggest advice to models coming up is CONFIDENCE! It’s the most important thing ANY woman can have. If your hair is in a messy bun and your wearing sweat pants but you leave the house thinking you’re the most beautiful woman in the world, I can guarantee you’re going to get hit on at least once in your day. Be yourself and own it.

Her favorite model/fashion inspiration: My favorite model is Irina Shayk. She is a goddess in my eyes and one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen and fashion is Versace. I’ve seen the work he puts into the shows and it’s astounding!
