Fashion jumped across the pond from Manhattan and landed on the runways of London this week. The spirit of English fashion is notoriously about risk while staying true to class, elegance and the unexpected. London Fashion Week continued with spring and summer’s most courageous collections.
House of Holland
Fashionistas from around the world fell all over the House of Holland “Buzz Kill” collection. I mean essentially fashion sloshed from the brilliantly eclectic and vivid rave-inspired collection. The Skrillex-esque bass intense music combined with this fearless and bold ready-to-wear collection had the whole runway and fashion world vibrating with satisfaction.
Todd Lynn
The Todd Lynn collection took chic and smart woman from a professional day to a daring night in the city. The futuristic but feminine looks kept true to shadowy golds, slates and ebony. The delicate slits and confident cuts weaved perfectly with Lynn’s androgynous style and Louboutin-provided heels.
Holly Fulton
Holly Fulton’s collection was all about the baby blues and romance. The storybook summer dresses and pretty cuts had an undeniable spirit of of girly charm and sunny poise. The looks are ready for a ritzy beach party in the Hamptons by night to an embellished Sunday brunch the next morning.
Issa London
Remember when Kate Middleton announced her engagement wearing that legendary midnight blue Issa London wrap dress? The designer still knows what she is doing. Issa London’s tropical spring collection was homage to the breezy elegance of summer and featured some of spring’s most sophisticated yet beach-ready looks. The airy and youthful designs were a mix of modern maxi-length dresses and spring’s most vibrant colors.
Moschino Cheap & Chic
Moschino Cheap & Chic was respectable & totally from the ‘70s. Risky pattern-blocking and gem-embedded bold florals were artfully sprinkled across Moschino’s retro-inspired collection. The patterned trousers transitioned from fall but added the flair of a flirty lime greens, statement-making mesh and an air of femininity.
Rag & Bone
Rag & Bone’s collection had us feeling like we haven’t quite left Manhattan’s streets yet. The clean and sheer casual-chic cuts possessed a touch of the trends we saw in NYFW – which Anna Wintour was clearly enjoying from the front row. The strategic cutouts and flashes of skin kept Rag & Bone’s spring collection cool and street ready.
