Those high school days are over, the days when you played three sports throughout the year, worked out really hard because your coaches made you, completed your homework and stayed fit. In high school it all seemed possible and all so easy to maintain. Now those days are over – welcome to college and the freshman 15. During those first couple of years, a student’s body changes drastically because of incoming calories when it comes to eating out a lot, or even going out and drinking.
Students lose the motivation to go work out and try to stay in shape because of the amount of workload given to them and a lack of sleep. At the end of the day they are exhausted and simply lack energy to go to the gym even if it’s just for that quick thirty minute cardio session. Nope, it just can’t be done. It’s hard to find the balance between a lot of important responsibilities and, of course, the gym.
Besides finding the balance and going to the gym it’s also important to have a good healthy lifestyle while eating the right sorts of foods.
“I have a smoothie every day, some naked juices protein shakes after the gym. It’s part of my healthy diet,” said Junior Ken Judd.
You can always start the day off right with an apple or a juice, and after the gym feed your body with some protein, which helps build muscles. When you have a healthy diet and eat the right food, you don’t need to worry about going to the gym every single day. You can go once, or two times a week and still stay fit because you are consuming healthy types of food.
There are perks to staying fit, and you’re allowed to treat yourself to a nice dessert with a lot of calories because you are staying in shape, so, you don’t have to worry about consuming all of those calories.
“By following my daily fitness plan, it makes me feel better in the end. It is easier for me to sleep because I’ve been active, and I get to eat out a lot,” Judd said.
You can have a healthy lifestyle plan you can follow, but at the end of the day it really is about the motivation and dedication you have fitting the gym into your hectic schedule. If you want to work out you can always find the time to do that.
“I started to plan how my semester was going to look like in the beginning, and I fit the gym in there. It’s your drive, and you have to want to go,” said Junior Jillian Lafore.
If students make time for a lot of naps between classes and make time for a lot of other responsibilities, the gym is simple to place into one’s schedule. In the end, you will not only be feeling good but looking good as well.
