Get Ready to Rave with Disco Shrine

By Shi Bradley

The world of EDM is filled with colorful, fun, and trendy fashion, and Jessica Delijani, known by her moniker Disco Shrine, is the embodiment of a rising fashion icon.

Native to Los Angeles, Disco Shrine’s amazing and trendy sense of style is a highlight of her performance. From her accented pink cowgirl look for Goldrush Music Festival, to her Barbie-inspired fits as she toured the country on the Barbie Rave, Disco Shrine’s outfits are a reflection of her lively, energetic sets and bubbly personality.

I was able to speak with Disco Shrine right before her set at Goldrush Music Festival to talk a little about her aesthetic and look, her favorite fashion trends, and some of her must-haves for performances.

Can you tell us about your Goldrush outfit?

I’m wearing a custom Disco Shrine outfit, this cute little disco thing I found in Melrose, and I just added some cute accessories and cowgirl boots I had!

Who are your biggest style inspirations?

It changes all the time, but I love all the pop girlies, and I love everything extravagant. I love RuPaul’s Drag Race, and just big, fun costumes. My go-to, whenever I do a show, is going to different costume shops and finding glittery, shiny, fun things!

What are some of your fashion must-haves for performances?

I’ve been obsessed with friendship bracelets recently! People give them to me and I like giving them out, I have some custom-made ones. I also love rhinestones!

What is your favorite fashion trend of all time?

I am a ‘90s baby, and I grew up in the 2000s, and I think those were just some of the most iconic eras of fashion. It was just so anything went, just layers, and random accessories, and that’s kinda my vibe. Mixing and matching super weird things and just getting to be very colorful.

How is your performance style different from your everyday style?

During the week, I’m a suburban girl. I’m the type of person wearing sweatpants and drinking Starbucks. But when I’m on stage, the real me comes out, and then I get to have fun and show my real personality.

How does your look differ by show?

For the most part, I want to be comfortable and have fun. So even though I’m doing like the cowgirl look tonight and I might go more edgy for like, New York, I always want it to be cute and girly and fun, and just me.

What is the coolest outfit you’ve ever seen anyone wear in the crowd?

I just played Webster Hall in New York, and everyone in the crowd was so stylish, they all looked like they could’ve been on stage. It was that style I really love, just mix and match, weird accessories, etc. I’m an accessories girl, and at that show, everyone was accessorized, which I love!
