AZFW Media Day officially commenced this past Sunday, marking the beginning of an exciting two weeks of Arizona Fashion Week (AZFW). Kicking off the 2024 season at the Empire Scottsdale, AZFW previewed an exciting debut of events and designers.

AZFW hosted its opening night on Nov. 5, showcasing a “Fashion House”, highlighting a designer and showcasing their slew of engaging activities from daily services to exclusive events, shopping, and special activations that are to continue now through Nov. 14. This season also marks the opening of a public hair and makeup studio, which included a photo studio and cocktail bar, created by The Black Bar Company, just one of the many of their partners. AZFW hosts a slew of partners, from beverage companies like Alani and Prime, hotels such as The Moxy and X Phoenix, and restaurants like Uchi Scottsdale and EVO. AZFW has even drawn attention from the likes of HuffPost, PopSugar, and Getty Images.

At AZFW’s media night, designers showcased their unique artistry. Influencers and media were invited to explore all the designers showcasing this season. Lori Bauman of LAB Studios creates eclectic designs that tell stories through mixed media. Rebeca Saint Fleur’s women's empowering and free spirit patterns captured attention with her brand Melode, while Tiffany Rae constructs wearable art from materials like beadwork and even spoons. Uzoma Ndulue’s Good Road Collection features original prints from her fine art background, and Giovanna Manzo’s crochet line proves her sleek and sustainable.

Additionally, AZFW has given students scholarships in collaboration with Arizona State University’s Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (ASU FIDM). Scholars included Uzoma Ndulue and Giovanna Manzo, the talented and upcoming designers showcasing their talents to expand their creative reach within the fashion industry. Nov. 12 will include ASU professors in attendance for the Fashion House, “Future in Fashion Gala” in collaboration with Phoenix College. AZFW is passionate about showcasing emerging talent and emphasizes its appreciation for all creatives across the Valley.
