Stressors are everywhere. Whether they be the stress from school, work or personal reasons they always tend to haunt us at every turn. If you’re lucky, the stresses of everyday life don’t affect you, but for most of us they do.
I am here to help everyone try to take a deep breath and relax. Instead of cringing, crying or just giving up, I will provide you with ways to release the stress in a healthy way.
You can take a load off by having a movie night. The best way to get rid of stress is to avoid thinking about the very thing that is stressing you. Pick out a movie and just relax while you watch it. Choose something that will take your attention away, grab some popcorn and a few friends and enjoy!
Take a day to pamper yourself. Get a facial, a deep conditioning hair mask, some chic nail polish and unwind. Nothing makes you feel better than taking time to treat yourself.
When I asked my roommate Clarissa Tapia, a sophomore at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, she said, “I usually go to the gym because when you are working out you are not thinking about anything else except your work out. You give yourself a break, and most importantly your mind a break.”
I tend to agree, so put on your best work out clothes, choose some rockin’ jams and you are set. The gym is not only a great place to distract yourself from stress, but you also never know who you may meet there.
Most importantly, have a good time! Get dressed up and just go out with the girls or guys. Grab your friends because the best way to get over anything your trying to get over is by hanging out and having a good laugh, and if that means friends or family, do it. Friends and family usually know you best and are awesome at relieving you from anything that has you stressed.
While these are just a few tips, there are plenty more ways to take your mind away from anything that might be stressing you out. When you’re finding a way to relax don’t forget to just ENJOY YOURSELF!
