President: Alexia Hill

Hill is a junior studying journalism with a minor in fashion. She joined the Chic because she felt like she didn’t fit in anywhere within Cronkite and as though she wasn’t doing enough in comparison to her peers. She is passionate about creating through multiple avenues because self expression, identity and interests are constantly changing. Old magazines like Creem and Sphere are sources of inspiration for Hill. She hopes to one day work in a multi-faceted job where she can connect visual and written story-telling, travel freely and continue exploring her love for poetry, reading and people.

Vice President: Morgan Cole

Cole is a senior majoring in Journalism. She wouldn’t mind working for a fashion magazine like Cosmopolitan, but believes her dream job is whatever will make her the happiest. As long as Cole is happy, she’ll know she’s living the dream. Cole does not have any specific style icons, but loves the 1920s era. She is most passionate about storytelling in all forms – whether it be books, movies, TV shows or articles. Stories are the best way to escape from life without really escaping.

Editor-In-Chief: Daniel Ogas

Ogas is a senior majoring in Journalism who joined The Chic in the Fall of 2022. He explained he wanted to be a part of an outlet that allowed his passion for popular culture to be celebrated, and given a chance to be seen by others. Despite his endless dream jobs, currently Ogas hopes to either host an entertainment news show or be an actor (subject to change at all times.)

Style Inspirations: Our EIC loves a timeless look. He explains, “Trends are fun, but it is important to use trendy elements to create a look that is perfectly crafted and can fit into any moment in history and is prepared for the future. I think Harry Styles does this well when he goes for a more elegant vibe, but of course, he can do no wrong in a boa and sequence either which is my alter ego’s sense of style.”

Assistant Editor: Olivia Madrid

Madrid is a sophomore majoring in fashion design and hopes to be famous one day! She joined the Chic because she knew she always wanted to write for magazines and felt it would be a perfect fit for her. Madrid is passionate about the environment, sustainability, mental health care and of course, fashion and writing.

Assistant Editor: Larisa May

May is a freshmen majoring in Journalism. As a long-time fashion lover, May heard of The Chic when applying to Cronkite and knew she had to become involved. Her ultimate dream is to be Editor-In-Chief or Creative Director for Vogue.

Style Inspirations: Although she finds it hard to commit to just one aesthetic, May loves academia and cottage core style

Managing Editor: Grace Copperthite

Copperthite is a junior majoring in Journalism. She wants to be a lawyer or a fashion journalist. She loves to go to concerts, read, and go on adventures. Copperthite is always down to try new things and loves anything food, makeup, music, or One Direction related.

Style Inspirations: She loves street fashion, crop tops with the baggy pants, biker shorts, oversized hoodies, chunky, colorful sneakers *chefs kiss* She also really likes the ’90s trends and patterned or statement pieces!

Public Relations Director: Camryn McLen

McLen is a journalism and mass communication major with a minor in fashion. She joined The Chic because she wanted to be around more like-minded people interested in the same topics. McLen also explained she wanted to get out of her comfort zone by joining a club, as well as start writing more about fashion and beauty. Her dream job is to one day work in fashion PR or writing for a fashion magazine.

Social Media Director: Alexis Watkins

Watkins is a junior majoring in Digital Audiences and dreams of working as a music supervisor for a film (especially a coming of age film) or TV show. Watkins has a strong appreciation for The Chic because it gives its members and those involved a space to express themselves fully and authentically. In terms of fashion, she is heavily inspired by the late 90’s and early 2000s. I love the street style from those time periods. Watkins love to see people express themselves through fashion no matter how “crazy” or “boring” that may seem to others. She is passionate about music and how it makes her feel. Growing up, she even played the guitar and the drums!

Style Inspirations: I am in love with Miss Bella Hadid. She is my style icon, I simply love everything about that woman, and the same goes for Rihanna.

Social Media Assistant: Shiaira Bradley

Bradley joined The Chic because of her interest in exploring fashion and entertainment journalism, and meet others with those same interests! “Now that I have I’m very glad I did. I’m building a portfolio, exploring different aspects of journalism, and I’ve formed such strong bonds with the team,” Bradley explained. Her dream job is writing for a magazine or doing entertainment PR.

Style Inspirations: 90s and Y2K fashion with inspirations from Afrocentric looks, and a mix of the soft girl and grunge aesthetic

Magazine Creative Director: Maja Pierce

Peirce is a senior at The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications. She is a Journalism major with a minor in Fashion and hopes to become a creative director of a sustainable fashion and arts magazine someday. She loves to thrift and up-cycle clothes as well as take care of her many plants!
