99.9% of my articles start with some cynical story about some boy which usually results in me giving advice about how to be independent… well, not this one.
What if you find the right person? What IF you don’t have to play hard to get… what IF you can just be yourself?
No complications, no drama, just you and your partner falling in love.
I bet some of you have found that.
Some of you might be happily married or in a long term relationship that might have its ups and downs but for the most part, it’s working out great.
It’s so hard for our society to see that nowadays… divorce rates are through the roof, and a lot of people don’t know how to be loyal.
They throw in the towel the moment things get hard.
Well, this week I am feeling inspired, I am feeling loved and I am feeling hopeful.
I have always been a hopeless romantic, but definitely more on the logical side of things.
I had a guy tell me all of the time, “your life is not a fairy tale, you will never find the person you’re looking for; there will always be complications.”
That stuck with me for a long time, I started to believe him and I let myself stop having hope. I also had a guy tell me to “stop looking for love and let it come to me.”
I guess men really think they have an opinion when it comes to my love life…
My point in all of this is screw those guys.
First of all, I MOST definitely will find the right person and it might be complicated but bring it on.
Second of all, being open to falling in love isn’t equivalent to looking for love.
How are you supposed to meet anyone when you’re closed off?
Go out and get the things you want- no one gets anything they want in life by just letting it come their way… NO, you fight and work for it.
For a long time, I was closed off and angry at men because I got my heart broken, just because a couple of guys sucked doesn’t mean the entire male population sucks.
Of course, be cautious and protect your heart, but remember that you deserve to be loved and to love other people.
I know a lot of people my age who are getting engaged and there’s a lot of backlash saying “they’re so young and they don’t know what they’re doing,” but my question for you is how the hell do you know that?
It’s their love story, and if you are lucky enough to have found the one so young then more power to you.
STOP putting a bad name around being in love. Go get your happy ending, we all deserve a fairytale or two in our lifetime.
