Last month, February certainly brought forth some fun and fresh music. We saw single releases and major album drops alike. As we transition into the third month of the year, let’s reminisce on the new tracks of the month of February.
TK Kravitz ft Jaqueed: Ocean
A personal top-choice for February, “Ocean” by TK Kravitz is a smooth, catchy track that is guaranteed to engage R&B fans. The sound gives off a 2000s Ne-Yo feel, and Jaqueed’s flow meshes perfectly with the vibe of the song.
Kendrick Lamar: “Black Panther: The Album Music From and Inspired By”
“Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler left the soundtrack of the film in the hands of Kendrick Lamar, and he did not disappoint. This album has fantastic diversity in sound and an all-star feature list including artists such as SZA, Khalid, Jorja Smith, 2 Chainz, Schoolboy-Q and more.
Tracks like “Big Shot” featuring Travis Scott have a hype, upbeat feel, while songs like “I am” featuring Jorja Smith give off a smooth, sensual vibe. “All of the Stars” featuring SZA took over the charts and brought a groundbreaking music video with it. King Kendrick certainly did not drop the ball this month as “Black Panther” is yet another masterpiece in his collection of influential albums.
Post Malone: “Psycho” (ft Ty Dolla Sign)
Post Malone released a long-awaited single this month: “Psycho” featuring Ty Dolla Sign. This track doesn’t stray from Malone’s typical chilled-out vibe and is (hopefully) hinting at an album in the works.
Torey Lanez: Memories Don’t Die
Torey Lanez dropped his newest album “Memories Don’t Die,” providing fans with more of his distinct island-inspired trap sound. Artists like Wiz Khalifa, Future and 50 Cent make an appearance; This album is most definitely for rap and reggae lovers. “B.I.D” and “Dance for Me” are notable tracks, but the entire album calls for an epic dance party.
