The Sun Devils Wear Prada Fashion Show was hosted on Feb 17. in the A.E Building on the ASU Downtown Phoenix campus. An entire Friday night was organized to help Sun Devils build their own personal brand while inspiring beauty into the many different body sizes for women around the world.

Sun Devils Wear Prada is a fashion club based on the ASU Tempe campus and their recent event was the first time they had held a show on a different campus. Personal brand stylist, Toi Sweeney, was invited to speak to ASU students and design career related outfits for the Sun Devil models.

As each model strutted down the neon pink runway to the bounce of pop music, every student had a goal in mind unwavered by the camera flashes and cheers of the crowd.

Natalie Wilson, a public policy freshman, hopes to move back to her hometown of Bellflower, California and work in the public sector. She got involved in Sun Devils Wear Prada club because of her older sister who once was an original member.

“Sun Devils Wear Prada has really opened my eyes to different body types and how everyone can look good in what they’re wearing,” Wilson said. “Once you feel beautiful on the outside, then you can really accept who you are on the inside.”

The message of positivity was accepted throughout the whole event as each member of the Sun Devils Wear Prada club continued to spread body awareness.

Marisa Pieper, a club representative who was responsible for handing out gifts, emphasized the night’s underlying message.

“Every body is beautiful,” Piper said. “Your worth can really stem from inside and how you portray yourself.

Each model had an inspired look for the night that was carefully thought out and put together. Their design would be a mix of personal style and future workplace outfits for their dream job.

Amy Rajnisz, a communications and special events management senior, describes her personal style as a “put-together and unique”. Rajnisz mentions that she is someone who dresses to impress and stand out from a crowd.

“On the runway you can expect a Rachel Zoe type style, it is inspired by boho and chic put together,” said Rjnisz.

The night ended with gifts and awards being handed out to the entire crowd and a magnificent bow from all the career-driven models on the runway.
