Must Read Fashion Books

1. It by Alexa Chung

It

This is one book you can judge by its cover. The outside is simple, but  the pink cover is what really draws you in. I mean, how many books out there are pink? World-famous model, Alexa Chung, writes about her childhood, failed romances, fashion inspirations and the fun (and drawbacks) of being a model. (They have problems too, believe it or not).

You’ll learn things about Ms. Chung that you’d never expect. Plus, the pages are filled with pictures Chung took herself  alongside some of her personal sketches. Chung fans and fashion lovers won’t want to miss out on this read.

Teen Vogue Handbook

Straight from the editors of the magazine, this book is overflowing with info on your favorite designers, editors, photographers, models and more.

This is an absolute necessity for anyone considering a career in the fashion industry. The handbook was recently updated so your inside look into the fashion industry is accurate.

3. The Gospel According to Coco Chanel: Life Lessons From the World’s Most Elegant Woman by Karen Karbo

Coco Chanel

What would Coco Chanel say about success? What about femininity? Now you can find out. The book also doubles as a biography of Chanel’s personal life and career. Basically anything and everything you’ve ever wanted to know about Coco Chanel is detailed in this book.

4. Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella

Shopaholic

You might have seen the movie, but the book is just as charming. If you’ve ever felt buyer’s remorse or splurged when you should’ve saved, keep Rebecca Bloomwood’s story in mind- there’s no way you’re in as much financial trouble as she was. Also, if you want to continue the story there are five more books in the series.

5. Style and Beauty by Lauren Conrad

StyleBeauty

I put these two books together as one because they go hand in hand and would look great side-by-side on any bookshelf. “The Hills” star Lauren Conrad wrote “Beauty” and “Style” in order to help her fans find the look that’s right for them. Conrad attached personal memos and pictures as an example of a fashion or beauty “evolution”.
