Standout Fall 2013 Runway Looks for Less

Dolce & Gabbana

Old-fashioned gray tweed becomes far from dull when it’s given an injection of sex appeal thanks to a red bag and shoes. The dress (Modcloth, $89.99) is conservative but tactfully flirty. Paired with a lovely bag (Forever 21, $24.80) and whimsical earrings (Modcloth, $9.99), it evokes the always-feminine vibe of Dolce & Gabbana. The shoes (Asos, $71.19) are beautiful but surprisingly practical due to the low, chunky heel, and they bear a striking resemblance to the velvet ones shown on the runway.

Marchesa

A toned-down version of one of Marchesa’s opulent gowns also has a toned-down price. The dress (Modcloth, $199.99) would be a stunner at any formal occasion. Lace-up booties (Zara, $89.90) peeking out from the hem would provide the delicate frock with a gladiator-like edge.

Anna Sui

Playful and girlish, this look from Anna Sui’s collection frolics in the realm of color and print. Try the pink coat trend (Asos, $115.69) and wear a charming printed dress (Asos, $56.95) underneath. A knit beret (Forever 21, $6.80) gives the outfit one last shot of sweetness. Simple black knee socks (Topshop, $12) and t-strap heels (Modcloth, $32.99) help prevent a sugar overdose.

Louis Vuitton

Up until this show hit the catwalk, wearing pajamas in public was something reserved for only the most stylish people shopping at Walmart. Now, however, it is accepted in various other venues. A casual sweater  (Loft, $44.50) thrown over a boudoir-inspired dress (Zara, $59.90) provides coverage, while ankle-strap sandals (Sole Society, $59.95) a luxe-looking bag (Asos, $44.50), and a glamorous faux fur jacket (H&M, $29.95) amp up the allure.

Saint Laurent

Equal parts girly and grungy, this is the quintessential rebellious schoolgirl look. The most innocent of tartan dresses (Modcloth, $49.99) becomes tough with the addition of combat boots (Forever 21, $39.80). Further details like rhinestone tights (Modcloth, $19.99) and a bow tie (Asos, 14.24) make the outfit extra special.
