Ralph Lauren’s collection can be summed up as bold and black, long and lean. Nearly every outfit was black and white, with a few brown, burgundy, dark teal, and navy exceptions. The collection emphasized turtlenecks, big collars and ruffles. Lauren showcased ankle-length and floor-length dresses, form fitting at the top, and hanging straight from the waist down. Some of the more glamorous pieces included fur coats and velvet dresses.
Calvin Klein demonstrated an edgier look. The majority of his outfits were accessorized with tall leather boots and a leather belt with a thick metal buckle. His collection was quite square, in the geometric sense. The collection featured boxy tops with wide shoulders, knee-length skirts, metal buckles on his belts and skirts, and even square patterns in his fabrics.
