Worst of // Milan Fashion Week

Fashionistas and critics from all over the world looked to Milan Fashion Week to see all the fierce and fabulous fall 2012 trends the fashion industry has to offer; but what about those trends that were more fug than fierce?

And lets face it, sometimes it’s more fun to talk about the fug anyway. And yes, by fug I mean fugly.

But, keep in mind that some man’s (woman’s) trash is another man’s (woman’s) treasure. Here is what I though were the fugliest things I observed at Milan Fashion Week.

Missoni

Now, I know that Mission is known for their signature printed knits, but this season it was almost like their printed knits vomited all over everything. There was way too much going on in my opinion, the color scheme was nothing special, and there was not one piece that I thought would be a great fall addition. Also, that dress? Probably one of the frumpiest fabrics and silhouettes I have ever seen. Sometimes less really is more when it comes to styling.

Emilio Pucci

I actually loved ย Emilio Pucci’s fall collection, I thought it was a very sexy collection with the sheer fabrics, cut outs and oversized jackets. The one fug part of the collection in my opinion were the sheer tops that literally left nothing to the imagination, can anyone say nip slip? I am all about a sheer top, but letting it all literally hang out is a little tacky in my opinion. I sure hope no one takes this look literally because I really do not want to see any wardrobe malfunctions on the ASU campus this coming fall semester.

Versace

One word: overkill. The dark, rocker, goth vibe would have been a great addition to the fall spectrum, but it was definitely a little overdone in my opinion. The crosses that were on almost very garment and the dresses with VERSACE emblazoned all over them was none other than tacky. The collection wasn’t all bad, and definitely had good intentions but it didn’t work in the way that it should have.

Well, there you have it. Milan Fashion Week was full of the good, the bad and the fugly.
